An Idiot to The Clueless!

Sometimes a visit to "puffington" is entertaining, and today one of Hollywood's idiots didn't let me down.
Alec Baldwin: Hang One, Hang 'Em All

Alec, you were never that good an actor and are an even worse American.

Let's forget the election for awhile and move on to something more important - New television shows. Anyone that might read this watch mentalist? What are you thoughts? I find it pretty interesting; however, I not so sure anyone is that good - Since they would probably be in Vegas or some other place using his skill:-)

"No Country for Old Men"

Did any one like this movie? I watched it and though I am not usually turned off by violence I do insist on a plot & some kind of ending... What the heck was that?

The Dark Knight

The better halve and I went to see The Dark Knight today. It was a good movie; however, it did not live up to the hype. The story is better than most Batman movies and Heath Ledger did a good job, but he is not Jack.

I would recommend the movie but don't by into the hype - On it's on it is a good movie, but will be a disappointment if you believe the hype.

Lot of Disappointed people

See what I had to say about the movie

‘Wanted’ Breaks Box Office Records

The Angelina Jolie action thriller Wanted scored the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all time for any R-rated pic, according to Variety.

Wanted - The Movie (really they need one)

I went to see what I thought would be a good movie - Wanted. I was wrong! It could have been a good movie - It has all the expected twist, but still it could have been good... Here is a hint, when you introduce something extremely "far fetched" you need to spend a little time making it somewhat believable (i.e. The Force, Krypton, Radioactive Spider Bite, etc.), a loom deciding who dies(?).

The actors/acting made it watchable - If you care what I think I would suggest you wait on the DVD...actually they may have been better served going directly to DVD.

Rest in Peace & Thanks for the Memories

Charlton Heston passed away last night - Agree with him or not, he had a large impact on all of us...demonstrating joy and sadness through his chosen profession. He will be missed!

Farewell!

May be dating myself but I enjoyed many of Mr. Scheider's movies (Jaws, Blue Thunder, etc.) - Our prayers are with his family.

Jaws Star Roy Scheider Dies
The actor, twice nominated for an Oscar but perhaps best known for uttering "You're gonna need a bigger boat" in Jaws, died Sunday night at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock. He was 75.

Life is Getting Better...

Got my X-box back that ended up with the "red ring of death", so life is getting better... Well there is that election year thing going on so maybe not "a lot better". I will let you know how the repaired X-box goes.

This was Three Days Ago - XBL Still Down

Letter from Xbox Live General Manager

Wonder what they are willing to give us now - How 'bout a refund! By the way, Xbox Live status page still says "up and running" and Clinton "didn't have sex with that woman"...must be in the definition.

Microsoft Sued Over Xbox Outage

Three Texas residents filed a lawsuit Friday on behalf of themselves and others who have had trouble connecting to Xbox Live in recent weeks.
This has really started to frustrate me...and we actually pay for this abuse!

Halo 3

Yes, I got it the first day, and in my humble opinion it was worth the"hype". So far, I believe it better then Halo 2; however, I have not decided if it is as good as Halo 1... Sure the graphics are better and...but, will it mean as much to the "video game" industry and "elderly" players like myself - Is 3 as "ground breaking" as the 1? I haven't decided, but I am enjoying it - Regression at it's funnest!

Casino Royale - Review - Recommend

As promised I went to see 'Casino Royale' and enjoyed it. Can I say it is the best 'Bond' movie I have ever seen-NO; however, it was good. If you consider that the movie is about the 'beginning of the legend' it will make the movie better. Basically, you need to forget all you know about Bond--forget you know he got married and that wife was killed immediately after the wedding, forget what he evolved into a dapper killing machine, forget that every women he runs into is ready to melt into his bed, and forget he very rarely ever gets dirty or bloody while saving the world--REMEMBER that he is just staring out. That starting out role and remembering it is what will make it work--he has a long fight scene with two men in a staircase that would have taken the older Bond less then a minute not to mention it took over half the movie to win the women who ends up being the reason he trust no one! All in all, though not the best 007 movie the ‘rough around the edges Bond’ was good and bore a striking similarity to Jason Bourne… I recommend it, if you care in the slightest.

Interesting Observation

Catholic League president Bill Donohue had an interesting comparison between Gibson's and Richard's racial tirades and Penn's (of Penn and Teller) tarads against Catholics--I will take it one step further Penn Jillette on several occasions has insulted all religion, well all religion that involves the God of Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Moses...

“In other words, racism and anti-Semitism are unacceptable, even when expressed in frustration or when inebriated, but anti-Catholicism is okay, even when expressed repeatedly and done intentionally. The problem here is not with Richards, Gibson or Jillette—the problem is with all the phonies who claim to be horrified by bigotry.”

Casino Royale

Since I have been a Bond fan forever I guess I will taking in the newest movie this weekend... I have my reservation since it is the "beginning" in the present--something just doesn't sound right about that!
