Tragedy - How Should We Help
Though this post will be considered by many as “unsympathetic” or callous I would disagree and apply this description to every political leader or group who pounce on any natural tragedy as an opportunity to promote their agenda, gain more power, or both. I find it sad so many don’t see the media’s constant bombardment of “gloom and doom” as what it is – An effort to promote an agenda, to sway public opinion, to “tell you what you should think”!
This is the real “burr under my saddle” – Telling me what I should think! If you don’t accept their spoon feed crap you are tagged as “uncaring”. When in fact, I believe I and those like me are much more caring. Our goal in helping anyone is to help them in such a way that they feel they helped themselves, you know pride a sense of worth! Pride, that thing that I truly believe certain political groups prefer you not have because without a sense of worth there is no individualism and without individualism there is only “dependence”.
So I hope others will band together and help those affected to help themselves; however, as for me, the man sitting on the tailgate of his truck waiting for the government to swoop in and save him doesn’t need or want my help after all I already gave him his charity on April 15th…TAXES.
I want to help anyone in troubled by providing them a hammer and nails and teach them how to build, give them a fishing pole and teach ‘em how to fish, or help them get a job so a year from now they are still helping their family instead of waiting on our charity again…

Clothes are Next - :)
However, let us look at more evidence though it is only based on opinion. When I drive around neighborhoods I know thirty or more years ago were nice and even new, they are rundown with houses in some cases that are nearly following down. Why is this? Could it be lack of pride? I do mark it up to laziness and lack of pride, which is pretty much.
You see when houses began being sold to people that couldn’t afford it, these “new owners” knew that they would either loose it or not be held accountable for the property, they didn’t care – They had no pride because they weren’t “in it for the long haul” and in many cases didn’t buy it with “their own money”… Now these dilapidated homes have nice cars in front of ‘em, cars I wouldn’t dare buy because I have a “house note” to make…
My question – Since we are now looking at ways to “give cars” away or lessen the expense to everyone - How will this depreciate the way the owners take care of ‘em.
Let’s put it to the test – My guess, in a few years now we will have house that are falling apart, with broken down cars in the drive way, but the people living and driving in these eye sores will have really nice clothes…
…that is till we start giving new clothes away!

Nope the below news isn't a disaster for Obama, failure to move us closer to socialism, failure to have more than 50% of the population convinced they can only depend on the government to meet their needs - Now that would be a disaster for this administration.

Said this would be Comical
Back to comical and entertaining - Do you believe Gibbs has any idea how what he meant by his comment here...I am sure he was given the line and hasn't a clue why or what...
Harry Reid is no Trent Lott, White House says
Gibbs added, “I understand what people have to say on TV or to get themselves on TV. I would suggest they spend about 20 seconds reading a little history and figuring out that to draw that analogy strains any intellectual enterprise or any real reality in all this.”
...because if we were to look at history one would know democrats fought civil rights, Robert Byrd was a "card carrying" member of the KKK, etc. - But Gibbs really didn't mean for you to actually look at history, he doesn't know what he meant.
COMICAL!

Review FEAR as 2009 Departs and 2010 Arrives
Then I remembered how Japan was “going to own America”, much like we hear China “will own America” now.
Does anyone else see a common theme here? “Keep the citizens in fear”, seems to be the goal of the media, the government, or both.
Having some (a little) experience with trying to control “masses”, I can say installing fear and worries is a goal to “control”. Do you believe I am just “blowing smoke”?
Well let’s look back – post WWII
- Fear of the ‘A’ bomb – Bomb shelters, “duck and cover”, etc.
- McCarthyism
- Cold War
- Temperatures cooling and entering a new ice age
- Oil Shortage
- Japan would “buy and destroy” America
- Going to “cook” due to a hole in the Ozone
- AIDS
- Animal Fat
- Domestic Terrorism
- Global Warming
- International Terrorism
- Trans fats
- China will “buy and destroy” America
Hmm, that is just a few – Am I blowing smoke?

God gave us his Son knowing that our sin and us would kill him, he did this out of love.
The Son came to this world knowing that our sin and us would kill him, he did this out of love.
Upon the arrival of God's Son, gifts were brought to him out of honor and love for who He was and why He was here.
When we give and accept gifts let us remember this - Know that you are loved, because He came to this world to give His life for everyone and that includes YOU!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Like in previous years I wanted to post the Thanksgiving proclamation.
WHEREAS, It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor;
WHEREAS, Both the houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"
Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted' for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.
And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have show kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Sitting at Work - WHY?
I am sitting at work, filling in for a supervisor who is off, and wondering why I am here...
We had to travel 452 miles round trip to attend a training session, which I did without complaint - Because it is my JOB.
Now I am here for a "midnight shift", because it is my JOB.
My job - I was raised to take MY JOB serious and a responsibility not taken lightly. "Work at it and you WILL succeed."
However, my future looks bleak - It appears the goal of my country is to take more and more of what I earn at MY JOB and give it to those who don't WORK, and a growing majority of those choose not to... Why does my government want this?
Because I am a male, a white male, because I chose to work, or simply to get votes and stay in power.
I believe it is because they want to stay in power caring not that they are creating a country full of pride-less, lazy, and selfish citizens... The irony here is THOSE IN GOVERNMENT will have me and you believe that I am selfish for working, taking MY JOB serious, and wanting the keep more of what I reap then they steal from me to give to those who choose not to WORK.
Well I have to get back to MY JOB because it is MY JOB, but I leave you with a question, WHY?

Kerry: Targeted attacks in Afghanistan not enough - washingtonpost.com
"I do not believe that a counterterrorism strategy all by itself without a sufficient level of counterinsurgency will work," said Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. "If you don't have a presence on the ground that's effective, it's almost impossible to collect the kind of intelligence that you need to be equally effective in your counterterrorism."

Kerry is not promoting sending more troops now. That would be irresponsible, he said, when Afghanistan's election is not yet finished.
"I don't see how President Obama can make a decision about the committing of our additional forces or even the further fulfillment of our mission that's here today without an adequate government in place or knowledge about what that government's going to be," he said.

AFP: General backs request for more troops in Afghanistan
LONDON — Britain's top general in Afghanistan has backed his US commander's call for more foreign troops to fight an increasingly bloody Taliban insurgency, a newspaper said Monday.
Lieutenant-General Jim Dutton, the deputy commander of NATO?s International Security Assistance Force, told The Times newspaper that victory was a matter of "straightforward force ratios".
"If you want to achieve long-term stability, and therefore a lack of terrorism potential in an area, you need to be doing more than simply patrolling the skies," Dutton said.
He said he supported US General Stanley McChrystal's request for a troop buildup in the country to counter the Taliban insurgency -- as competing advice over the future war strategy and waning Western public support grows.

Obama Weighing Health Care Strategy Shift - Political News - FOXNews.com
President Barack Obama, faced with falling approval ratings and increasingly impatient with Senate negotiations over health care, is weighing a shift in strategy that would offer more details of his goals for overhauling the nation's health care system.
The president is considering a speech in the next week or so in which he would be "more prescriptive" about what he feels Congress must include in a bill, top adviser David Axelrod said Tuesday in an interview. The speech might occur before the Sept. 15 deadline the White House gave to Senate negotiators to seek a bipartisan bill, Axelrod said. He suggested that two key Republicans have not bargained in good faith.

Fact Check
The first claim is that “Medicare has controlled cost growth better than private-sector health plans.” The reality is that “when payments from all sources are considered, spending on Medicare beneficiaries is increasing faster than spending on the privately insured.” The amount Medicare spends per beneficiary is growing slowly, but Medicare is paying a shrinking share of its beneficiaries’ total health costs. The total amount spent on health care for individuals enrolled in Medicare is actually growing faster than the amount spent on individuals in private insurance.Technorati Tags: healthcare, fact check, medicare

Medal of Honor???
If we just look at WWII, 464 medals were given - a quick look puts the military deaths for WWII around 416,800 (this is higher or lower depending on source)...meaning the Medal(s) of Honor awarded were just over 1% of the miltiary deaths.
We see there have been 4,000 death and 6 medals awarded...just over 1% - The numbers tell me they need not, should not, change a thing. Whatever is done or not done the honor can/must not be diminished, neither for future recipients or past...and if politics becomes the primary factor I fear this is inevitable. If I had to give an opinion today I would say - LET the process ALONE and RESPECT the traditions of the past!

“I personally encourage the president to establish a White House commission on public media,” the legendary newsman said.
