Republicans Jumping on Band Wagon

This story just demonstrates republicans jumping on the "get Rummy" bandwagon... Of course, I am not sure how conservative Susan Collins (R - Maine) is, she did vote against the impeachment of Clinton. The Republicans that are jumping on the "get Rummy" bandwagon seem to be political motivated - they did not have a problem with troop volumes, defense budget, etc. when they voted; but, NOW it is front page New York Times' news it is an issue. Hey, wishy washing Republicans, you are doing nothing but helping your next democratic opponent (remember flip-flop), hurting our President, and advancing the liberal New York Times' agenda.. Congratulations Senator Collins on your new found wisdom, visa be the New York Times, but should not our leaders have seen issues when voting own troop movements, budgets, etc..

This seems like the Democrats claim; yes we vote but even though the executive branch of our government is the "weakest" branch, so designed by our forefathers, we will pass anything negative on to the that branch. Senator Collins can you read? Are you a leader? Step up and accept that you did not foresee the problems then adapt and overcome - soldiers have been adapting and improvising for years now!

Sick Story

This is a story detailing the "extraction" of an unborn child after murdering it's mother... What is happening to our country that this type of heinous crime can happen?

When and if the suspect or suspects are caught some wonderful defense attorney will tell us we need to understand his/her pain and the reasons they did it. This is bunk! What can possibly justify this action? I actually heard someone say "oh this happened in Columbia recently….."; what was the point, we are now holding ourselves to "third world" standards. This statement and the "defense attorney" profession indicate that we are trying to lower our standards to our actions instead of holding ourselves accountable to American values and morals. Enough ranting!

If you are reading this and know anything about this crime call the FBI immediately… Let's at least save the child if possible!

UPDATE: Even though law enforcement is saying that the person/persons probably had some type of medical knowledge FoxNews has an "expert" saying that the person is probably mentally ill, yada, yada, yada, yada - the excuses for the heinous act have already started! Will we hold them accountable if caught, that's the big question! By the way how many times has this happened if we already have experts

Ohio Recount Tossed

The above picture look familiar - no it's not Florida 2000 - it's Ohio 2004, and another lame attempt by the Democrats - oh wait they road on the heels of others in a empty attempt to shield themselves as the guiding throng. Chevy Chase has Lost it

Well Chevy Chase is at it again - proving liberal in Hollywood are going to change - yes another good sign for 2008 and the republicans. Mr. Chase was the host of an awards ceremony staged by People for The American Way. Here is the reporter's take on what he Mr. Chase said:

He deployed the four-letter word that got Vice President Cheney in hot water, using it as a noun. Chase called the prez a "dumb [expletive]." He also used it as an adjective, assuring the audience, "I'm no [expletive] clown either. . . . This guy started a jihad."

Yes the word deployed involved a "F". Further the reporter tells us:

People for the American Way distanced itself yesterday from the actor's rant. "Chevy Chase's improvised remarks caught everyone off guard, and were inappropriate and offensive," Ralph Neas, the liberal advocacy group's president, said in a statement. "It was not what I would have said, and certainly not the language People for the American Way would ever use in discussing any president of the United States."

Mr. Neas, what exactly did you expect? You were honoring Alex Baldwin and Susan Sarandon, two of the most outspoken Hollywood Bush bashers and asked Chevy Chase to host. Sir you are aware that during the John Kerry party where "people reflecting the true values of America"(?) attended Mr. Chase said "this guy is as bright as an egg-timer" of this President of the United States - I ain't buying what your selling Mr. Neas..

Is it just me or does this story not give you confidence the truth will come out? I mean every crooks dream to be the one responsible for investigating the crime...Give me a break!

Freedom of Speech - Except

Once again, we see that as far as school is concerned you can have freedom to say anything in a song except refer to Christ or Christianity. The Toledo Blade reports that a Christian band scheduled to play during a "anti-drug" school assembly has been cancelled because "it isn't appropriate". Maybe in homage to Madelyn Murray O'Hair, who graduate from this same school. (Hat tip: David Limbaugh)

Zell to Work at Fox

This story details that Zell Miller the "Dixiecrat" from Georgia will be a contributor for FoxNews. The article takes the opportunity to once again point out that Fox had more viewers then ABC, CBS, or NBC during the GOP convention.

FNC was watched by an average of 5.9 million viewers between 10 and 11 that Wednesday, easily outstripping NBC's 4.5 million, ABC's 3.3 million and CBS's 2.6 million.

Saddam's Henchmen to be Charges

Next week former members of Saddam's regime will began being charged. This is excellent and a great development, truly believing that when these "men of evil" are brought before the Iraq people and they see that the reason was not just to "get Saddam", but to stop the suffering it will assist the movement toward democracy and a free Iraq. After all every American is for a free Iraq, the end of "evil", and justice for the evilness of Saddam's regime; aren't they?

This article promotes optimism that the Taliban is on it's last leg - approximately three years since American forces entered Afghanistan; what do you think could we expect the same time frame for Iraq? Are we demanding too much for Iraq based on our apparent success in Afghanistan?

Social Security - Reform

David Brooks has a really good OP-ED about Social Security reform. Mr. Brooks has an observation that I happened to agree with on the current liberal doctrine and I quote "What you hear these days is not liberalism. It's conspiracyism" - pretty much sums up what I hear everyday from the left.. Some excerpts from the article.

What you hear these days is not liberalism. It's conspiracyism. It's the belief that the Bushite corporate cabal is going to do to domestic programs what the Bushite neocon cabal did in the realm of foreign affairs. It's the belief in malevolent and shadowy forces that will grab everything for their own greedy ends. Immigration Security - Follow-up

As I promised in Immigration Security I will share my immediate thoughts. I wanted to thank you for the thoughts via e-mail I received Thursday and Friday.

Well the first story I will discuss advised President Bush vows to help House Republicans enact tighter immigration-security controls. However, this cannot happen until the next year. I believe this is a late and have so stated. Yes, I support President Bush but his administration has been sorely lacking in this effort, in my opinion - of course, we (The Republicans) wanted the Hispanic vote! F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (R - Wisconsin) did step up to the plate and acknowledge this could be too late, stating of immigration provisions, "they are vital". These new immigration-security controls will not be easy to enact, Nancy Pelosi (D - California) called the reform "egregious" and "extraneous"!

The after the above story we get this story advising "House to see new bill on immigration-security"... The article identifies the problem passing this new bill will be, as expected in the Senate. The bill calls for driver's license reform, tightening asylum laws, and completing the fence on California's border. All right, let us stand and cheer - is this enough? What has been the hold up in the three years following 9/11 or the eleven years since WTC 1 - I mean all the experts(?) say better driver's license control would have impaired the enemy's plan. I personally do not believe this bill will go far enough and will only be a token to appease people like me - if they can even get it through the Senate.

What is the big deal? I hear people concerned about having a "country ID" - give me a break, it controls driver's license better - you know the thingy you are only supposed to have one of and show every time you right a check, are pulled over by law enforcement, or give a copy for employment. What is the big deal, you already have a "country ID" we simply want to control it better and I say that and the other two proposed reforms ain't enough!

Teens Delay Sex - (Religion & Morals)

The Washington Times Insider has a story telling us "teen sexual activity has dropped significantly since 1995 -- primarily, teens say, because it is against their religious or moral values, says a new federal study regarded by many as the "gold standard" for family statistics". (Read here)

Well I'll be John Brown; the most common reason given by teens for delaying sex was "against [their] religion or moral values" - those evil issues; morals and religion strike again.

The Hate Continues

This story again demonstrates the lengths demoncrats will go to unite the nation. In Lancaster, Pennsylvania a City Councilmen (Nelson Polite), upset that his neighborhood baker (David Stoltzfus) choose to display a picture of President George W. Bush - and in an effort to reinforce his commitment to freedom of choice Councilmen Polite asked Mr. Stoltzfus to take down the picture. Since Mr. Stoltzfus has refused to comply with the request, or was it a request, Councilmen Polite threatened to push a city ordinance to ban all political material from public paces. (Read here)

Atheist Philosopher "There is a God"

There is a story where Anthony Flew "the British scholar who has been one of the world's most proponent of atheism", conceded that scientific evidence points to the existence of God.

Flew said that the latest biological research “has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved.”

Armor Question - Setup for Rummy

I didn't say anything about this story; however, now want to give my opinion since I have heard nothing else but this story for the last two days. Unaware of what I am talking about? I do not see how it is news everywhere, but while taking questions from Soldiers in Kuwait Donald Rumsfeld was asked a "hard" question about the lack of armor - this questioner, a solider, it was discovered was coached by a reporter. This story, once again is regurgitated old news. There have been claims Kerry knew this and Bush denied it in the debates; well this is bunk - here is the only reference I found during the debates.

KERRY: We didn't guard 850,000 tons of ammo. That ammo is now being used against our kids. Ten thousand out of 12,000 Humvees aren't armored. I visited some of those kids with no limbs today, because they didn't have the armor on those vehicles. They didn't have the right body armor.
I've met parents who've on the Internet gotten the armor to send their kids.
There is no bigger judgment for a president of the United states than how you take a nation to war. And you can't say, because Saddam might have done it 10 years from now, that's a reason; that's an excuse.
GIBSON: Mr. President?
BUSH: He complains about the fact our troops don't have adequate equipment, yet he voted against the $87 billion supplemental I sent to the Congress and then issued one of the most amazing quotes in political history: "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.

Please noticed also included in this debate on October 7 we hear about the 850,000 tons of ammo that was such a surprise - Sunday, October 26th - regurgitating old news in an effort to produce "new" bad news has been common practice for the media during the last eighteen months or so. Simply added a new twist - get a solider to do it.

Is it a valid question - yes - using it a "gotcha" devalues the question! The reporter, that is suppose to be so worried about our men and women, had the "best day of his journalistic career" - give me a break he (the reporter) and his colleagues don't care one iota about the men and women - simply need that gotcha!

Once again, to add credence to the question - we get it had to be said - as if commanders were not aware and not speaking up for their troops. Oh sure I forgot they are part of the vast "Bush conspiracy" just as this the young soldier would have been demonized had he added "thank you sir that makes sense to me" - of course if he said it would not have made to the news, well maybe he did?

Once again - as far as news goes this is a non-story; heck, Jag did an episode (#211) on lack of vehicle Armor in Iraq last month - that is amazing Hollywood had the blockbuster story before the newspapers.

Are there issues with equipment improvement - yes - because, we are constantly finding new and better ways as we improve technology and learn methods and procedures of the enemy. To through a blanket over the entire DOD and say it is incompetence is ludicrous - in every war there have been improvements to save lives that everyone wishes we could have gotten to the battlefield quicker. An example would be WWII the Sherman tank was a "fireball" waiting to happen, but we did not know that until we went against German Panzers and Tigers and found that our Fuel Tank could be penetrated so easily even by their handheld launchers add that with the choice of gasoline instead of diesel - lot of people died - we corrected it but could not stop the war until all new equipment was manufactured and reissued.....There is a little common sense missing in the glee of attacking Bush and the administration....

FoxNews reports that less than seven months after same-sex couples began getting married a couple has filed for divorce... Wonder how much attention this will get? You can read it here

Who Will Get Credit?

Let's see who gets credit for this story! Attempts to unite are being made, but who is doing it? I mean we know that Bush would never do that, just read the op-eds in the New York Times - and the liberals shouldn't do it just listen to Howard Dean. Who is doing it then? Divided we stand, no it's United We Stand and George W. Bush - President George W. Bush is making and effort! Some excerpts:

What's Offensive

I am really getting tired of hearing what I believe is offensive on televisions, in the papers, and every - what is worse the ones saying it lost the election!

Who is allowed to define offensive? In my opinion that is really at the root of all the hate spewed toward Bush and the "red states" - they are worried we might, no positive the "red states" have stopped listening to their opinion! Media is being blasted and proven for the liberal elitist they are and conservative media is jumping ahead rapidly, which is probably more telling than the election. I would not be surprised if NBC, CBS, or ABC tries to change their liberal strips soon to capitalize on the "movement".

Nevertheless - back to "What is offensive" - that is as subjective as "What is fair". Yet someone or some people, somewhere deems it their responsibility, no they believe it is their right to make those decisions for all, but when the masses they have attempted to control step forward to be heard the elitist call "foul" "you are trying to force your values on me". Now to be clear it was not offense when the role was reversed and my concerns and values were not considered, but now it's offensive! That is offensive!!!

Never mind the fact that the "revolting" masses give compromises (i.e. civil unions instead of marriage) - they yell "foul all our way or nothing" - yet claim the "red states" are dividing the country - Now that's offensive!

No in an effort to unify the country the "red states" are told "go ahead and secede", "your all are simply stupid", "we know what's best", "this is not fair", etc. - That's offensive!

Upset With Change

Mary Frances Berry finally agreed to leave, but civil rights leaders are upset! Because, there is a conservative in chairman's seat and that is just wrong. We have seen how the press and minority leaders accept conservative minorities, they don't - this is no different. Gerald A. Reynolds assumes chairman of the U. S. Commission on Civil Rights and has already got his critics, from the we must unite crowd. Mr. Reynolds awful sin in the first hours of his new position was to say things like "Somebody can look at disparities in income and home ownership and conclude that it is due to discrimination, but before you can do that you have to perform an investigation because there are other factors that could explain these disparities," how dare him! Mr. Reynolds went on to say "The disparities could be the result of discrimination or it could the result of something else that has no relation to discriminatory conduct," doesn't he know any negative news about minorities is always about race and has been for forty years! Shouldn't we give Mr. Reynolds a chance or are we afraid he might discover that racism isn't as bad as we are lead to believe?

Korean Word for Condom

This story just hit me funny and I had to say something about it. You see Korea has no word for condom so they have been using the English word. Wanting to change the word they had a campaign to come up with a name. After 19,000 submissions they thought they had one - however, it was to close to actual names and people complained. Mr. Limbaugh identifies more media persecution in one of his latest blog entries. An article from Reuters lumps Islam and Christianity into the same bucket by saying that distortions of both religions lead to spousal abuse and "honor killings". Where do they get this stuff? I was raised in a Christian home and was taught only to respect and honor women - I want even address the "killing" accusation!

Magdlena Sroda says: It is a structure based on patriarchal domination of God the Father and the less important role of women can be seen for example in the letters of Saint Paul.

Here is a little of what Paul had to say about how to treat wives:

How can it be said this teaches abuse and "killing"?

Christianophobia?

In this article we find that the Vatican is attempting to get "Christianophobia" recognized as an evil that is equal to hatred of Jews and Muslims. Archbishop Giovanni LaJola said, "It should be recognized that the war against terrorism, even though necessary, had as one of its side effects the spread of 'Christianophobia' in vast areas of the globe".

I would have to say, with all due respect, hatred of Christians has been around much longer then the "war against terrorism". Christians around the globe have been persecuted for their belief long before 9/11 and having been documented I hope people don't assume this is a new phenomena. Another thought, would you choose phobia? Phobia "an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation" - does it point to the true evil and hatred?

Do we need a word to know that people hate Christians? Is there a need to label the persecutors of Christianity anything else but persecutors or evil? Is this just a simple attempt to label a "group" and the "never ending" search to understand evil of a now labeled group? Evil is just that evil and it is real; naming it something other than evil doesn't change that it is evil, anti-Christian, against God

"Merry Christmas" - Is it A Crime?

Can you believe in a country that was based on religious freedom and founded on Christian beliefs we have gotten to the point Christmas cannot be mentioned because it contains the word "Christ" - People the historical reference for Christmas is the birth of "Christ", the "Christ", the Son of "G"od! Are we really attempting to create a secular holiday yet have it the same day "Christ" was born, yet fail to acknowledge that point in fear of offending some! This is absurd and I am sure our founding fathers are "turning over in their graves"... Here is the article by Jennifer Harper that has gotten my dander up. Some snippets:

I admit I have not seen much news in the last twenty-four hours but what I did see did not have much coverage. Is this not great news - one of our main objectives achieved! Hold Her Accountable - Time to Go

Mary Frances Berry refuses to acknowledge her term as a member of the U. S. Commission on Civil Rights is up. Peter Kirsanow has an article outlining her refusal to depart and other troublesome character flaws. During Berry's rein as chairman (12 years) "a culture of unaccountability has become and entrenched feature of the commission's administrative character", revealed by numerous governmental reviews. Some snippets:

In 1997, a Government Accountability Office report noted that management is in disarray, projects are poorly managed and take years to complete, spending data isn't maintained by office, program, or function and the agency's policies and procedures are unclear. GAO couldn't even verify project spending because of the commission's indecipherable record keeping.

The GAO's 2003 review of the commission showed that the commission had also failed to comply with the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993. The civil-rights commission has not updated its strategic plan since 1997.

Just last week she released a deeply flawed and biased report critical of the Bush administration's civil-rights record, despite the fact that such report had been rejected by the commission at its November 12 meeting (the report was originally scheduled for release just days before the presidential election but Republican commissioners succeeded in tabling it, noting that the report on the Clinton civil-rights record wasn't released until after his second term, expressly to avoid politicization). Why even vote on reports if the chairman will simply issue them as she sees fit?

• Annan needs to step down:

• Withhold funding until full disclosure, and no more "get out jail free cards":

A separate group of Republicans led by Rep. Jeff Flake, Arizona Republican and member of the House International Relations Committee, yesterday pushed legislation that would tie the United States' U.N. funding to the organization's cooperation with investigators.
The corruption accusations have prompted numerous investigations, including several congressional inquiries, a U.S. Treasury Department investigation and a U.N.-commissioned inquiry conducted by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker.
But Mr. Flake and other Republicans say the United Nations is not cooperating with investigators, is withholding information, and has denied Mr. Volcker's investigation any subpoena power to get information.

Under Mr. Flake's bill, which has 77 co-sponsors, Congress would withhold 10 percent of its U.N. funding in fiscal 2005 and 20 percent in fiscal 2006, until President Bush certifies that the United Nations has agreed to certain standards laid out in the bill. The bill calls for full disclosure of documents related to the oil-for-food program, asks U.N. officials to waive diplomatic immunity, and asks any U.N. official who benefited from the program to reimburse the full amount that was improperly received.

I believe either is a start and worth looking into - it is understood saying something has to be done. (Read more)

Thoughts from Canada

Good article by Ian Robinson on Calgary Sun's website, dated November 14, 2004. I wish I had seen it earlier but I found it interesting and funny. Some snippets:

No Doubt Media Bias

There is an interesting article in The Weekly Standard that provides details of a "media bias" study by UCLA. Some excerpts:

These researchers use a clever statistical technique to construct an objective measure of conservative or liberal bias in the news coverage of major U.S. television and radio stations, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet. Their main finding is that the liberal inclination of the mainstream media is clear. Among 20 major outlets, Fox News and the Washington Times emerge as conservative, but the other 18 range from slightly to substantially left of center.

Before you jump on the hate Fox bandwagon lets look further.

On the conservative end, the only two outlets below 50 were the Washington Times (35) and Fox News Special Report with Brit Hume (40). Although right of center, these ratings are much closer to the centrist position of 50 than to congressional Republicans' average position of 16.

The other 18 outlets are on the liberal side of 50. Particularly striking are the high liberal ratings for the New York Times and CBS Evening News (both 74), not too far below the average score of 84 for Democratic members of Congress. The news programs of the other two traditional television networks are closer to the center--62 for NBC Nightly News and 61 for ABC World News Tonight. (Read more)

MSNBC, I assume in an effort to attack the Military or President Bush released a story containing new facts about Pat...wait, are they new facts? Here is a story (dated 5/20/2004) that brings the same new (?) facts to the surface. This is simply another example of MSM regurgitating old negative news stories in it's never ending attack on President Bush and the Military. No they aren't biased, right! As I stated in Good News Please "It could be said the media is acting treasonous and attempting to destroy the country from within – come on how about a “Little Good News” today".

Last week there were stories on The Waxman Report, accusing an abstinence-based program of misleading teens. Many touted the reporter's view of the report as fact without reading the report or investigating. I found an article by Jane Jimenez that dives further into the Waxman Report and identifies some interesting points.

Filming Combat: Yes or No

Army Times has a story by Rick Maze about Rep. Walter Jones' (R - N.C.) letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld stating that he "worries the presence of camera crews could end up jeopardizing lives". Some more excepts:

UN Trouble Problem for Dems?

Interesting opinion piece by Deborah Orin pointing out that during the 2004 campaign the Democrats suggested that the corrupt UN could be trusted more than President Bush could. Further, democrats have reflexively been pro-UN and for their survival, they need to distance themselves from the UN. I agree with Ms. Orin adding only "hey democrat distance yourself".

Need to Define Concession

Hundreds Re-Enlist

Good story out of Fort Carson, CO about a large re-enlistment ceremony held today. Here are some reasons the soldiers gave:

"I am doing it because of him," said Spc. Chad Mobley, pointing to Spc. Josh Soelzer. "He's like a brother to me."

"I think it is a sense of duty," added her camouflage-clad husband, who will be serving his second tour in Iraq. "I decided I owed it to my boys. I am very proud of being in the Army."

"I wanted to do my part in protecting the nation and the future of my children. I just love the Army. I can't picture myself doing anything else," he said as his 3-year-old son, Dontay, watched from a stroller.

Interesting fact: "The Army says 58,446 soldiers over all re-enlisted in the year ending Sept. 30, 2,000 more than the goal."

Economic Good News?

I believe this story might depress the pessimistic liberals out there - but not to worry you can still harp on "consumer confidence" until that myth is destroyed, after which you can blame the "high energy prices" on President Bush. Face it liberals should not be so depressed it is always easy to find something negative to harp on.

Racism in US not Bad

My wife and I are of different races and do get the occasional stares; however, we do not instantly believe those staring hate us. We prefer, if the opportunity presents itself, to approach and give a nice "hello how are you"; if further given the opportunity we will have a conversation. To assume the individual simply "hates" us and then "hate" them back make all parties ignorant!

I do want to be clear - there is ignorance in all races about racism; so yes racism does exist across all races and is not limited to black and white. Simply ask an older Korean, Chinese, or Pilipino how they feel about the Japanese; you might be shocked by the hate that could come out of their mouth - Turks and Greeks or Germans!

My problem racism is portrayed as such a problem in this country when in fact it is much worse in many other countries; one word genocide - how many times have your heard this, recently?

I believe racial tolerance in American though not perfect is much better then almost another place in the world and the word "racism" is simply used for shock value. The media itself promotes racism while condemning it - amazing. I realized this many years ago after a "cult multi suicide" outside San Diego - the realization hit me like a brick and I wondered how I missed it.

While talking about the number of humans that died the media gave a race and gender breakdown. I thought about it and I challenge you to listen to tragic stories reported they will give you a race, religion, gender, and anything else they can think of breakdown - Heck, they did it after 9/11 to the best of their ability using percentages mainly.

If a medium really seeks racism to become a memory would they not simply report "xxxxx" Americans or human beings died in a tragic ………………….., instead of "x" blacks, "x" whites, "x" males, "x" Asians died in a tragic……………..and the reason there were more "whites" is because…………………but the male number was high because…………………..!" Give me a Break - racism is promoted by the media and politicians! In my opinion anyone that believes racism is so much worse in the United States simply needs to travel and talk to the people not just see the sites. You see other countries know it is ugly to and don't promote it like the good ole USA.

Secretary-General Annan Has Got to Go

In a New York Times column by William Safire it is reported that Annan said:

the secretary general said that the allegation (originally reported in The Sunday Telegraph in London) had been "thoroughly investigated" by the U.N. and there was "nothing to it."

statement in April about the contract award: "Neither he nor I had anything to do with the contracts for Cotecna."

Now a Scotsman.com News article has Annan saying:

Asked to react to news that his son took the money and had not disclosed it, Annan said: “Naturally I was very disappointed and surprised.”

Annan said his son “is an independent business man. He is a grown man, and I don’t get involved with his activities and he doesn’t get involved in mine.”

Well which is it "nothing" or nothing that involves you? This man has got to go!

Shout out to Betsy's Page for pointing out John Leo's latest column. Mr. Leo points out several statements made by the open-minded liberals over the last year. A snippet:

Former CBS anchor Walter Cronkite said he is inclined to think that Rove “probably set up bin Laden” to deliver his latest tape. Maybe he set up Florida’s hurricanes, too.

In the category of saying nice things about terrorists, Michael Moore wins for comparing the insurgents in Iraq to the American Minutemen....(Good read here)

You have to agree with Mr. Leo's title, because these statements are truly "Over the Top". The sad fact is there are many more statements that could have been placed in this article.

60 Minutes Against The Miltary

Last night while channel surfing I ran across Leslie Stahl's 60 minutes piece Spy Ring at Gitmo. Little to my surprise it was another derogatory story on the military. Is anyone else getting tired of this relentless effort to demoralize the military while continuing to state the lie "we support our brave men and women"? I don't expect no negative stories since I know they have to get their ratings, but I do expect some positive stories which are sorely lacking. Anyone reading, can you tell me the last time you heard a positive story about the military come out of CBS?

I am not talking about the basic "we support our brave men and women" I am looking for a true story involving interviews etc. CBS along with the other MSM simply refuse to air those types stories and then criticize those that feel as I do. This is not being supportive "of our brave men and women"! Act as if these were you children; do you believe that constant belittling and berating without praise would motivate them to strive to be their best? I don't thinks so!

Is the World Better Off?

Daivd Brooks has a good piece on the state of world economics and the effect of globalization. I agree with his statement "I hate to be the bearer of good news, because only pessimists are regarded as intellectually serious.."! Here are some excerpts:

Taking France To Court

Looks like France after calling for the United States to be brought before the World Court will get there but not the way they expected. This did bring a smile to my face.

Patricia Hamza, a lawyer working with an Ivory Coast presidential mission in Brussels, said a suit against France would be lodged with the International Court of Justice, the UN's highest legal body, in The Hague.(Read more)

Hey Spain - We Got It!

This story further ties the same cast of al-Qaida characters responsible for Spain's train bombing to the 9/11 attack. However, as we know these cast of characters, which anti-war activist say have no ties to Iraq, bomb the train in Spain in revenge for Spain's sending troops to Iraq - resulting in Spain withdrawing her troops. This story solidifies that indeed America is fighting Spain's battles against terror. Some interesting excerpts:

Investigators in Spain and the United States have long said Spain was a key staging ground for Sept. 11, along with Germany.

News Flash - Florida Did Vote Bush

Wonder if this story satisfies Keith Olbermann's curiosity?

LAKE BUTLER, Fla. - A newspaper's review of ballots cast in three north Florida counties where registered Democrats heavily outnumber Republicans showed just what officials reported: the counties' voters did on Election Day as they often do here, they voted for a Republican for president.

The review of ballots by The Miami Herald shows that people really did mark their ballots in larger numbers for President Bush than John Kerry, debunking Internet-fed rumors questioning whether there was some sort of conspiracy against Kerry in those counties. (Read more)

Chem Lab in Fallujah - Update

Earlier today it was suggested that we "not ruin the antiwar establishment's holiday weekend" by telling them about the chemical lab that was discovered in Fallujah - but someone must have let is slip; they know! I also updated you on the fact that a Zarqawi lieutant was arrested near the same location.

Now there is a story on Aljazeera reporting that former UN chief weapons inspector Han Blix would be surprised if the lab were capable of creating weapons. Mr. Blix states:

Many of these stories evaporate when they are looked at more closely," he told the mainly student crowd. "The chances [that the laboratory could produce weapons] are, I think, relatively small. I would be surprised if it was something real.

Is this wishful thinking or insightfulness - I believe it to be the former.

Man Kills Eight - China

Wonder if Michael Moore and his anti gun cronies will mention this in "Bowling for Columbine Part 2" - seems the rest of the world isn't so safe with or without anti-gun laws. Idiots and maniac do not need a gun to carry out their crazy plans; except maybe in America where a knife wilder is likely to get shot in a state that allows people to carry guns.

BEIJING Nov 26, 2004 - A man with a knife broke into a high school dormitory and killed eight students in the deadliest of a series of knife attacks at Chinese schools in recent months, the government said Friday.

Appears a San Francisco principle wishes to rewrite history because America's true history involves God. My question; is it the principle or the entire San Francisco school system?

France Illegal Ivory Coast Attack

Check this out! In an attempt to cover their collective butts the UN has adopted a resolution after the French acted! Can you imagine America doing this? Any liberal that reads this please tell me why you are so worried about what this country and this organization think of American - their crooks and liars! I was surprised to find this article in a US paper and must applaud the "Chicago Sun Times". Here are some excerpts:

The government of France illegally attacked Ivory Coast and the U.N. Security Council sanctioned the illegal action with the adoption of Resolution 1572 on Monday, in what appears to be an imperial plot for regime change in the embattled country.

On Nov. 6, France became a party to the conflict by destroying at least two military aircraft in the tiny Ivorian air force in response to an alleged friendly fire incident in which government fighter jets bombed a French military encampment while attacking rebel positions in the northern town of Bouake, the rebel stronghold, killing nine French soldiers and one American civilian.

Under traditional international law, peacekeeping forces are supposed to be impartial, lightly armed, not to use force except in self-defense and function with the consent of the host state. From this background, the French bombing of the Ivorian air force would be illegal and in breach of Article 2(4) of the U.N. Charter prohibiting states to attack one another unless in self-defense. Don't you think the United Nations is taking the "love not war" motto from the 1960(s) a little to serious. The organization touted by Senator John Kerry as our savior(LOL) is having serious problems of it's own. I have already commented on an earlier report that was causing "trouble in Kerry's paradise", but this is yet more bad news in less then a week.

I am amazed to find the media pointing out media bias. Mind you, it is not a US media outlet but one from the United Kingdom; you know the country that supposedly hates us and our actions in Iraq. Think the US media will take the hint? Here are some of the things they had to say.

Mr. President, I know you got a larger percentage of the Hispanic vote, God bless them, but don't let loyalty blind a greater good for our nation.

Taking Anti-God to Far!

When President George Washington proclaimed “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor” – I don’t think he added, “but don’t tell our children about it”.

FoxNews reported Monday that in Maryland “Students Free to Thank Anybody, Except God”; isn’t this going to far? I mean Thanksgiving is a religious holiday; yes “RELIGIOUS” holiday and part of our history. Novel idea for parents that don’t like the idea send you students to school on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Good Friday and they can be attended by teachers that share to same beliefs and should therefore not agree with taking a day off to thank God. Some excerpts from the story:

Maryland public school students are free to thank anyone they want while learning about the 17th century celebration of Thanksgiving — as long as it's not God. And that is how it should be, administrators say.

Good News Please – UPDATE!

On Friday, I asked, “Why is it that the MSM only discusses the negative stories?” and “come on how about a “Little Good News” today; in my post “Good News Please”. While shame on me; Times Online (UK) had a good story about the American miltiary action in Fallujah and how the residents themselves were being terrorised. Who would have thought I should of looked for my “Good News” where we are told by the New York Times and other MSM American and the action in Iraq is despised! How should we take this? Either Bush, American, and the action in Iraq are not so despised in the UK or the UK actually has honest reporting delivering both sides of the issues; I think the New York Times and others could learn something here. Some excerpts:

A previously unknown rebel group last week threatened to behead Dr Allawi's cousin, his wife and their heavily pregnant daughter-in-law unless the assault on Fallujah was stopped.

Such is the fear that the heavily armed militants held over Fallujah that many of the residents who emerged from the ruins welcomed the US marines, despite the massive destruction their firepower had inflicted on their city.

A man in his sixties, half-naked and his underwear stained with blood from shrapnel wounds from a US munition, cursed the insurgents as he greeted the advancing marines on Saturday night.

"I wish the Americans had come here the very first day and not waited eight months," he said, trembling. Nearby, a mosque courtyard had been used as a weapons store by the militants.

Another elderly man, who did not want his name used for fear the rebels would one day return and restore their draconian rule, said he was detained by the militants last Tuesday and held for four days before being freed. He described how he had then sought refuge in a friend's house where they had huddled together clutching Korans in silent prayer for their lives as the massive US bombardment put the insurgents to flight.

"It was horrible," he told an AFP reporter."We suffered from the bombings. Innocent people died or were wounded by the bombings.

"But we were happy you did what you did because Fallujah had been suffocated by the Mujahidin. Anyone considered suspicious would be slaughtered. We would see unknown corpses around the city all the time." (Read more)

To be fair the Time Online does question some statements and actions by US Military and the acting Iraqi government; however, the fact that they can question some actions and statements and tell positive accounts of the US Military action demonstrates something the American MSM hasn’t; non bias!

Trouble in Kerry’s Paradise (The UN)

Maybe Mr. Kerry should be glad he lost this election. His guiding light may be dimming rather quickly. Today there are reports that the “UN staff ready historic no-confidence vote in Annan”, read the story here. Here are some excerpts from the story:

The UN staff union, in what officials said was the first vote of its kind in the more than 50-year history of the United Nations, was set to approve a resolution withdrawing support for the embattled Annan and senior UN management.

Insurgency 'Broken' - How Will Lib(s) Spin

Reported today that the “top Marine officer” declared yesterday that the victory in Falllujah has “broken the backs” of the Iraqi insurgency.

Based on intelligence that shows Fallujah was an enemy command center, Gen. Sattler asserted, "We feel right now that we have ... broken the back of the insurgency, and we have taken away this safe haven."

Sattler said the insurgency, in losing Fallujah, has lost "your location and your means for command and control, you lose your lieutenants, which we have taken out of the Zarqawi network over the course of the last almost three months on a very precise basis. ... And you also lose the turf where you're operating, the town that you feel comfortable moving about in, where you know your way about. Now you're scattered."

How might they be able to spin this in a negative light? I am sure liberals will find away. But in the interest of being fear I will add and excerpt that should give us cautious in our optimism.

Some Pentagon officials say privately that they do not share Gen. Sattler's optimism.

They said this week that the countrywide insurgency has shown itself to be an adaptable band of dedicated killers that likely will be able to recruit new members and sustain some level of violence for years, not just months.

Good News Please!

The amazing, perhaps historic, battle of Fallujah has come and gone, and the biggest soldier story to come out of it is the alleged Marine shooting. Why is it that the MSM only discusses the negative stories? Why would they not promote the positive actions of our brave men and women? Is their hatred of George Bush so great that they must attempt once again to turn a generation against it’s country.

Don’t get me wrong if the Marine killed a non combatant, did not obey his ROE (“Rules of Engagement”) he should be prosecuted; but report it, leave it alone and let the military deal with it. However, the media believes this a bigger story then the actions of a multitude of courageous young men and women! The media seems to enjoy reporting on negative world opinion appearing to foster it by focusing on negatives and not even looking at positives.

Could it be the American People’s fault? Are we uninterested in “feel good” stories, stories of honor and valor? I only know I would like the see a “Little Good News”, to coin a song from the ‘80(s), about our Military men and women. However, to see the “good news” I must search, dig, and seek it out. I personally have faith that the American People want “good news” and put the growing negative world opinion squarely on the MSM.

The main story out of Fallujah is an alleged atrocity, one mind you out of countless acts of courage and valor. The NY Times, arguably the most read US circulation, drowned the public with front-page stories about the Prison scandal. It could be said the media is acting treasonous and attempting to destroy the country from within – come on how about a “Little Good News” today.

Volunteer or Draft

Daniel Henninger has a good piece that explains the advantages of a volunteer Military as opposed one crated by the draft. Some excerpts:

Kerry Doesn’t Get It!

John Kerry tells FoxNews’ Geraldo Rivera he believes the Osama Bin Laden tape cost him the election. Kerry believes the security issue cost him the election and other democrats believe the War on Terror was the primary reason for a Bush victory.

I personally believe, although the War on Terror was important, it was Mr. Kerry’s lack of core values and inability to commit to a single message, which cost him the election. Further, it is the democrats demonizing of the “Red States” which led to and will continue to be their demise. Currently the democrats are in damage control mode and don’t even know it.

Mr. Kerry you failed to win because the Majority of American did not trust you or your convictions. You stood on unproven accusations and failed to address your own treasonous acts – could it be that Americans have issues with someone turning on their “brothers in arms” or maybe someone that admits his belief system is not represented by his voting record (“personally against abortion but….”) drives home the point of no conviction (. Nevertheless, it is my earnest hope that the democrats continue down this path of not “getting it” which is good for republicans.

Kerry’s and the Democrats hero organization once again proves that there is a double standard where the UN and the Bush administration are involved. Where is the outrage that the UN is blocking investigations in the Oil for Food gimmick? FoxNews has a short story about the investigation being blocked; pretty much the UN’s statement is “we didn’t do anything wrong but we don’t have to prove that fact”. Some excerpts:

Sevan has promised to cooperate with investigators and has denied any wrongdoing. But he has yet to agree to testify before congressional panels. (read more)

I find it disturbing we read about this post election! Could you imagine these issues in the Bush campaign? CBS would have interrupted CSI to run with stories like these! No there is no bias in the media. Some excerpts:

Return to Business as Usual

Well I have not posted anything in a week. I was hoping there would be some good news, news of a “coming together”, but there has not. The MSM continue to attack Bush with regurgitated information or wild accusations. With this, the liberals and MSM continue to say Bush is not attempting to unite the country when their continued hate filled speech divides it.

Well I waited one week for the childish claims to stop and for the opposition to come up with complaints of substance to no avail. I guess it is back to the same pre election rhetoric – and I will start commenting on it again. I do expect the politicians to figure out that they lost and start getting back to government as usual; however, this process seems to be taking longer for the hate-filled media and may never happen for the likes of Maher, Moore, etc.

Brightside is if the democrats don’t figure out their hate filled speech did more to rally the republican vote than Carl Rove ever could they will loose more seats in 2006.

Job Outlook - 337,000 Jobs Added

The job outlook is not the gloom and doom we heard from the left during their pre-election rhetoric.

Nonfarm payrolls grew by a robust 337,000 last month, more than twice the increase recorded in September, the Labor Department said Friday. The department also revised its estimates of payrolls growth for September and August, saying employers added 156,000 more jobs than previously thought. That brought the total of jobs created over the last 13 months to 2.2 million. (read here)

The Values-Vote Myth

In past years, the story line has involved Angry White Males, or Willie Horton-bashing racists. This year, the official story is that throngs of homophobic, Red America values-voters surged to the polls to put George Bush over the top.

This theory certainly flatters liberals, and it is certainly wrong.

Here are the facts. As Andrew Kohut of the Pew Research Center points out, there was no disproportionate surge in the evangelical vote this year. Evangelicals made up the same share of the electorate this year as they did in 2000. There was no increase in the percentage of voters who are pro-life. Sixteen percent of voters said abortions should be illegal in all circumstances. There was no increase in the percentage of voters who say they pray daily. (read here)

I have held off on writing this in the hope of finding a transcript. I was unable to find transcript or video so therefore it will not be an exact quote.

Sometime early this morning while watching election coverage and channel surfing I came across CBS. Eager to see how depressed Dan Rather was and how CBS would spin the story I paused. Andrew Card appeared and “declared victory”; Dan Rather asked Leslie Stahl her views. This is my issue! Ms Stahl made a statement worded something like:

Mr. Bush shouldn’t be declaring victory. He is breaking rules he is suppose to wait until we and the networks declare him the victor. This hardball….. Dan interrupts.

Ms Stahl; who are you to tell the President of the United States what he is suppose to do, yes Ms Stahl it is President Bush not Mr. Bush. Your affiliation Ms Stahl, with CBS and the media, does not give you some kind of supreme authority. Who do you and CBS think you are, besides at the bottom of the “mainstream media” dung heap? CBS is not the ruling class no matter how much you want to believe you are all knowing and all powerful! You do not anoint a the king or at least not in the real world; please wake up!

Media – Election – Bias?

As a follow-up to Election Coverage, I have another question. How come CNN, ABC, and CBS do not have a problem projecting a victory for John Kerry in Pennsylvania when he only leads by 121,188 (100% reporting) or Michigan where Kerry only leads by 105,602 (87% reporting); HOWEVER, have major issues declaring Bush a winner in Ohio when he has a 136,211 (100% reporting) lead?

This looks very suspicious to me. We know CBS (Rathergate) and ABC (Political Memo) are bias toward Kerry. Having always felt CNN is bias; it appears to me they are doing nothing to hide their bias and in fact are walking the line of flaunting it in our face.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Election Night

I planned to be up all night expecting a decisive winner. Stupid me took both candidates somewhat at their word that both agreed the country was truly divided and needs to be united, which I eluded to in my earlier post…However, the Kerry campaign refused to concede Ohio currently 138,000 votes behind (98% reported). This indicates that the democrats are determined to keep driving a wedge in the middle forcing Americans to decided right or left; they have learned nothing from this.

Moral values ranked higher, for voters polled, then either economy or the Iraqi war….are you hearing America?

The democrat talking heads are depending on the number of provision ballots….let us look at the numbers! We will need to make some assumption here; for example, the votes go 50/50 Kerry/Bush and further assume that every provisional vote will be legitimate; under current conditions, there would need to be 278,000 votes to count. Come on!

America set a negative standard with Florida 2000, but let us say we all agree with fighting the Florida 2000 election. Rounding the number in question we will call it 600 indicating the Ohio count difference is 229 times higher….come on when is it enough.

Does anyone here believe that dragging this vote out is good for the country? If you say yes, search your heart and tell me that you simply are disgruntled (being polite) that your position came out on the short side.

Mr. Kerry I ask you to wake up this morning look at the numbers and realize that disputing this result is not the best for America a country you declare you love!

The current numbers are Ohio (144,000 w/ 99%) and the popular vote is roughly 51,000,000 (Bush) to 48,000,000 (Kerry). Bush is leading in New Mexico, Nevada, and Iowa with 99% reported in all three states. Please Mr. Kerry prove me wrong about you and the democratic party; prove you actually care about this country and not your own lust for the White House.

Election Coverage

Kudos to NBC for, at least, attempting to give the perception that you are not AS bias.

Don’t you find it interesting that ABC, CBS and CNN refused to declare Ohio for Bush even when 144,000 (99% precincts reporting)? I just think it interesting!

Aren’t these the same questionable networks during the campaign: maybe they knew Kerry would not concede victory? Of course, they aren’t working with campaign that would be bias, or are they.

I just find it suspiciously “par for the course”!

Vote - Vote - Vote

If you agree with me or not please vote it is your right and I was raised that voting was pretty much a duty. Quite simply, if you fail to vote you loose any right to complain about our elected officials, SO VOTE.

Why Is The Nation Divided

On a local forum the question, "why is the nation so bitterly divided" was put to us. I thought about and came up with a brief response; do you agree?

I believe that the FAR LEFT is bitter about the Florida Vote from 2000; and their "no holds barred" run at the White House caused much of this. I believe these, in many cases unjustified, attacks on our President has rallied Bush supporters.

Attacking Bush because of his faith is unjustified. Interestingly enough people, with nothing else to do apparently, counted the word God in Bush speeches and Clinton speeches. Clinton mentions God 20 times more than Bush; no outrage – this and other like incidents for others and me signaled growing double standards that raised our blood pressure. Clinton, Kerry, Jackson, other can make a campaign speech in any church – if my pastor even mention a candidate it would be on the front page calling for our “tax exempt status” to be revoked.

Then you move on to George Soros; no problem with him spending multi million dollars to unseat Bush, but damn those Swiftees that got a $200,000 donation from a Bush supporter. DNC and Kerry lawyers work for Soros but again damn those Bush lawyers working for Swiftees and forget the fact he voluntarily resigned from the Bush campaign; he was already damned. Again, double standards.

Do not get me wrong. I know democrats that disagree with this and admit these double standards and yes, they are still voting for Kerry; but they are respectable and should demonstrate the majority of the Democratic Party. However, the media that fills my day does a lousy job of hiding their bias or introducing America to individuals like this; individuals that can tell me what they believe in without one cross word against Bush.

Then you have the bitter Al Gore calling our President a traitor. If Democrats can honestly compare traitor to liar (terms used against Clinton) as quid pro quo then we have nothing to discuss. Speaking of lying to the American people; was not a problem during the Clinton years, no Democrat had an issue with that; now we accuse a man (a Republican) of lying about information that was corroborated by the majority of congress/senate and the UN.

The Democrats through a candidate at us that touts his Vietnam record but does not want anyone to dispute it (with full support of the MSM), question it, or heaven forbid we talk about the traitorous comments about his comrades in arms. The NYT can question every single move the President makes and regurgitate stories when they see fit but anyone that questions Kerry is attacked by the MSM (mainstream media); their answer to allegations is to call them liars or zealots.

I believe the stanch liberals of the Democratic Party purposely created the Two Americas, the decisive division. It was easy you already had a growing divide between the For Iraq/Against Iraq population all they needed was a little push!
