Two Important Questions!

Rumsfeld ask two questions that all of us should answer for ourselves--the answers to the questions should influence on our hand at the ballot box more then how our 'wallets' will be affected!
"Can we truly afford to believe that somehow, some way, vicious extremists can be appeased?"
NO!
"Can we truly afford to return to the destructive view that America - not the enemy - is the real source of the world's troubles?"
NO!

Shame on Them

You mean they weren't 'Monitoring'--I don't think that is what the article means; however, it should have been worded differently (Pentagon to 'Better' Monitor..., or Pentagon to 'Increase' Monitoring...).  To make a statements like this indicates to the public, a public that may not and probably doesn't know better, that recruiters up till now have had free rein--I can assure they have not, or didn't in my time!  Either way I do agree that there is a need to find if these complaints are legitimate and 'weed out' the offenders.

Pentagon to Monitor Recruiters
SAN JOSE, California - The Defense Department has announced it will closely monitor military recruiters and their commanders in light of two investigations - one by the government, the other by The Associated Press - that found increased levels of recruiter misconduct.

Plame Waste of Time

David Corn has some intresting insight into the 'Plame leak' or as I think of it the 'Plame waste of time'.
That meant that the State Department had good reason (political reason, that is) to distance itself from Wilson, a former State Department official. Armitage may well have referred to Wilson's wife and her CIA connection to make the point that State officials--already suspected by the White House of not being team players--had nothing to do with Wilson and his trip.

If Your Wondering

I haven't given up on politics or world events (e.g. Israel Crisis Cease Fire, Lieberman, 2006 Election, Iraq, etc.); however, I am a little tired of it witting about it everyday. Others are much better better at it anyway. I do and will post what is important to me, which includes SPORTS! With the start of football and the NFL season just around the corner, the long hot summer is almost over and I am SO ready for it to be!

A Bad Weekend For Tiger...

would be a great one for most!

Tiger keeps on rolling at Firestone
AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Tiger Woods celebrated his 10-year anniversary of turning pro Sunday by winning for the 52nd time on the PGA Tour, making an 8-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole against Stewart Cink to win the Bridgestone Invitational.
*Note: Hope you are not watching this on televison, it's taped delay and I appolgoize for ending the suspense.

Conflict of Interest

Here is an interesting revelation about a conflict of interest involving the 'no wiretapping' judge that, surprise, the MSM has ignored.
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and judicial abuse, announced today that Judge Anna Diggs Taylor, who last week ruled the government’s warrantless wiretapping program unconstitutional, serves as a Secretary and Trustee for a foundation that donated funds to the ACLU of Michigan, a plaintiff in the case (ACLU et. al v. National Security Agency). Judicial Watch discovered the potential conflict of interest after reviewing Judge Diggs Taylor’s financial disclosure statements.

Michael Moore's Fan Club

It appears Michael Moore has more accolades to add to his 'public relation' file...  Michael Moore is the favored American director among terrorists types.  Wow, doesn't he have a lot to be proud of...
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - An Iraqi militant group has produced an elaborate video of what it said were attacks on U.S. troops, in the latest example of the increasingly sophisticated propaganda war being waged by Iraqi insurgents.
[...]
Lifting scenes from Michael Moore's anti-war film "Fahrenheit 9/11", Rashedeen's narrator taunts President Bush in softly spoken English over graphic images of Humvees being blown up by roadside bombs, and purportedly dead U.S. troops.

Interesting

The below is an educational piece--it shows us what you get when you hire a racist to appease racist and be politically correct.

Wal-Mart Image-Builder Resigns
The civil rights leader Andrew Young, who was hired by Wal-Mart to improve its public image, resigned from that post last night after telling an African-American newspaper that Jewish, Arab and Korean shop owners had “ripped off” urban communities for years, “selling us stale bread, and bad meat and wilted vegetables.”
[...]
“You see those are the people who have been overcharging us,” he said of the owners of the small stores, “and they sold out and moved to Florida. I think they’ve ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it’s Arabs.”

I am Tired!

I am getting tired of having to walk around as if we were on thin ice where Muslims are concerned. Here is an idea for the Muslim leaders, actively work to rid your 'religion' of these terrorist and condemn their activity. Until then, give it a rest and remember--what religion were the men that bombed the Trade Centers in 1993, blew up the USS Cole, crashed planes into the Trade Centers in 2001, and continue to threaten the United States?

Another question; how come members of the Islamic community have no problem speaking out against any faith but theirs--but cry foul whenever 'truths' are spoken about many of the followers of their faith?

Shoura Chief Wants Bush Apology
JEDDAH, 21 August 2006 — Shoura Council Chairman Dr. Saleh Bin-Humaid yesterday called for a public apology from US President George W. Bush for linking Islam and Muslims with fascism and terrorism.

Good News

Ten years are twenty, it is good news that law enforcement didn't give up. If proven and found guilty let's see what the punishment will be?

JonBenet Ramsey Suspect 'So Very Sorry'
BANGKOK, THAILAND — A former American school teacher said publicly Thursday he was with JonBenet Ramsey when she was killed and called the 6-year-old's death "an accident," a stunning admission that should help answer 10 years of questions in the unsolved murder case. "I am so very sorry for what happened to JonBenet," he told The Associated Press.

Too Bad...

For the kooks on the left--Lieberman is leading in the polls...  Pay close attention to the 'likely votors', Lieberman has a twelve point lead. To be fair most readers that frequent here know my view of polls; however, the left seem to live and die by polls so this is bad news for the far left.

New Poll Shows Lieberman Leading Lamont
The Quinnipiac University poll has Lieberman leading Lamont among registered voters 49 percent to 38 percent. Republican Alan Schlesinger gets support from 4 percent. Among likely voters, Lieberman was supported by 53 percent, compared to Lamont's 41 percent and Schlesinger's 4 percent.

Google has Coupons

I wonder how this is going to work?

Google to distribute discount coupons
More than 20,000 coupons are expected to be available Tuesday when the service debuts on Google's popular mapping service. The initial coupon supply is being provided by Cox Enterprises Inc.'s Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, which has been mailing envelops stuffed with coupons and discount offers for nearly 40 years. Valpak, based in Largo, Fla., plans to provide Google with nightly updates to expand the supply of coupons from a list of neighborhood merchants that will include pizzerias, auto shops, dry cleaners and handymen.

Great News!

Some of you might not know some ordeals that GM Roper has been going through, but this is good news.

GM's Corner : The Battle Is Won, The Fight Continues!
The battle has been won, the war will go on until I have been 5 years cancer free and can then count myself a full fledged member of the cancer survivors network.

Will it Last

What do you all think? Will it last?

Don't get me wrong--I hope for peace; however, "take your ball and go home" knowing they will return, is not peace! If it were peace there would not have been decades of strife in the Middle East; after all how many of these "take you ball and go home" agreements have there been. Whatever you call it ceasefire or peace I don't believe it should restrict Israel while Hizbollah rearms with supplies from Syria and Iran.

Ceasefire agreed for Monday
BEIRUT (Reuters) - The United Nations said Israeli and Lebanese leaders had agreed to a ceasefire to take effect at 0500 GMT on Monday, as Israel reported its worst death toll yet in the month-long war against Hizbollah guerrillas.

An Economics Lesson

Thomas Sowell give a nice explanation why increasing minimum wage is bad....
A survey has shown that 85 percent of the economists in Canada and 90 percent of the economists in the United States say that minimum wage laws reduce employment. But you don't need a Ph.D. in economics to know that jacking up prices leads fewer people to buy. Those people include employers, who hire less labor when labor is made artificially more expensive.
[...]
There is no free lunch. Higher labor costs mean fewer jobs.

Was it or Was it Not!

Well which is it?  A massacre or not?

Lebanese PM: Israeli air raid killed only one
The Lebanese prime minister now has said only one person died in an Israeli air raid on the southern village of Houla, after telling Arab foreign ministers on Monday that many more Lebanese had died. Saniora had previously claimed that more than 40 people were killed in the strike. Local TV stations had also reported that the same number of people were buried under the rubble of houses that collapsed after being targeted by Israeli airstrikes.

Fair and Balanced--Ha!

Well Reuters is going all out to show their true colors, well maybe they are trying to hide them...

Reuters employee issues 'Zionist pig' death threat
A Reuters employee has been suspended after sending a death threat to an American blogger. The message, sent from a Reuters internet account, read: "I look forward to the day when you pigs get your throats cut." It was sent to Charles Johnson, owner of the Little Green Footballs (LGF) weblog, a popular site which often backs Israel and highlights jihadist terrorist activities

Waitress gets own ID when carding patron
WESTLAKE, Ohio - A bar waitress checking to see if a woman was legally old enough to drink was handed her own stolen driver's license, which was reported missing weeks earlier, police said.
