Well, I guess it wasn't a failure...but wait, we will hear somehow it is.

Polls Close in Iraq Elections, No Major Violence
Polls closed at 6 p.m. (10 a.m. EST) on Saturday — an hour later than planned — after millions of voters cast ballots for influential regional councils around most of Iraq.
Well there are elections, again. In Iraq in case you missed it... Another failure, right?

...and it begins!

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic "stimulus" package, claiming "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, "Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom," seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.

How much further a move would it be to say "abortion (selective) is needed to assist in managing the economy - Yep, I can see nothing but good things, in the recent move to make our "free" economy state ran, NOT!

Global warming - Believe it, below is the evidence -

First Day With A Low Colder Than -10 In Chicago In More Than A Decade
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning until noon Friday. The forecast high for Thursday is expected to linger in the negative range at -2, dropping to -15 overnight. Strong northwest winds are producing wind chill factors of -25 to -40.
Record snowfall, plunging temperatures hit the area
A new record was set Wednesday when Chicago had its ninth consecutive day of measurable snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.

The previous record was eight consecutive days set from Dec. 13 to 20, 1973.
How cold is it? Flint's 95-year-old record low falls as 19 below zero hits city
Flint broke a 95-year-old record early Wednesday morning when the temperature plummeted to a frigid 19 below zero. The previous record? Minus 10, set in 1914, according to the National Weather Service.

Well maybe NOT! One question, what was the reason for such high temperatures 95 years ago - Was this the start of the global warming???

...and another story about how to hold our children accountable...
SEATTLE - Washington state law does not bar teachers from having consensual sex with 18-year-old students, an appeals court ruled Tuesday in dismissing a case against a former high school choir teacher.

The teacher, Matthew Hirschfelder, was charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor for allegedly having sex with a Hoquiam High School senior in 2006. He challenged a judge's refusal to dismiss his case, arguing the student wasn't a minor because she was 18.

Here is a novel idea - The AP reports that parents and teaching children to be responsible for their actions is needed for their online protection.
"should not overly rely upon any single technology or group of technologies as the primary solution," the task force said.

"Parents, teachers, mentors, social services, law enforcement and minors themselves

Scaring thing is it took a year long study and no telling how much money to tell us something we all should already know!

Not good news for a state that tells us abstinence works...
Mississippi Highest Teen Pregnancy
Don't misunderstand - I am for abstinence, I just think it is moot without teaching God, family, morals, and ethics along with"abstinence".

If anyone out there is interested - Me I am ready for a new Palm OS, since I prefer palm to either MS or Apple, at least for mobile devices...there simplicity has always been a welcome change.

Exclusive: New Palm phone to have slide-down keyboard, large touchscreen
We have information from a trusted source that the latest Palm smartphone running the Nova operating system will be launched Thursday.

Some Hobbyist Software titles I would recommend are Reset Doctor, great for finding what app could be causing crashes and to stop random crashes.
Butler is a great addition to any Palm Device - Multiple alarms, an attention grabber, enhanced speed, etc.
Power Hero is an essential addition to extend time between charges - Take care of what is on and when it is on.

Phone Technician allows you multi-task with your Palm OS smart phone... Try all of these, but if you keep them please ensure you pay the developer...so he can continue to maintain these products and introduce better one.

If you are a palm loyalist as I am, having used a palm device since they were operated by "regular" batteries, you will want to look at this launcher by Hobbyist Software... It takes the normal function of a launcher to the next level to meet the needs of a smartphone. Hope you will give it a try, the developer allows you to download a full functioning copy to try before buying - He also has a challenge for you!!!!
Try it you might like and if you don't you might save some money - I tried and liked it!
