Do We Care?

Well I found it interesting -- if you don't.

New Technology Finds Missing 'A' in Armstrong Moon Quote
Some historians and critics have dogged Armstrong for not saying the more dramatic and grammatically correct, "One small step for a man ..." in the version he transmitted to NASA's Mission Control. Without the missing "a," Armstrong essentially said, "One small step for mankind, one giant leap for mankind."

The famous astronaut has maintained he intended to say it properly and believes he did. Thanks to some high-tech sound-editing software, computer programmer Peter Shann Ford might have proved Armstrong right.

Rice - "Clinton Lied"

Condoleezza Rice strikes back at Clinton -- these 'back and fourths' can be interesting... By the way, what do you think a former president having a temper tantrum makes the country look good?
September 25, 2006 -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Bill Clinton of making "flatly false" claims that the Bush administration didn't lift a finger to stop terrorism before the 9/11 attacks. Rice hammered Clinton, who leveled his charges in a contentious weekend interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Channel, for his claims that the Bush administration "did not try" to kill Osama bin Laden in the eight months they controlled the White House before the Sept. 11 attacks.

Forget It!

Let me say, I am not Catholic; however, I do hope the Pope doesn't cave anymore to these TERRORIST demands... Where are the apologies for calling anyone of my religion, Christianity, vile names--not to mention threatening to KILL me and those that believe me.  Where is their religious leaders outrage as such name calling and threats--it is non existent nor will it ever exist.  So give me a break with your whining!  You liberals that seem to think it is open season to criticizing Christianity yet believe Islam is somehow protected -- SHUT UP!

Do I think all Islamic people are terrorist--NO!  I do believe that Islam as a whole is 'deafly' silent when vile threats and actions come from fellow followers of Islam!

Do I think the Pope should have thought through what he was saying-YES!  Do I believe the Pope should beg forgiveness-NO!  He said it, he apologized, it is done!

Muslims Want Further Apology From Pope
ANKARA, TURKEY — Muslims in Turkey, Iraq and the Palestinian territories demanded Tuesday that Pope Benedict XVI make a clear apology for his remarks on Islam, instead of saying only that he was "deeply sorry" that Muslims had taken offense.

Read and Listen

Unless you are liberal--then maybe you would take your head out of the sand and stop criticizing your own country long enough to realize terrorism is real--it isn't President Bush's fault, the West is hated even the countries that have "CAVED" to the appeasement community.

Iraq al-Qaida Says Pope, West Are Doomed

Al-Qaida in Iraq and its allies warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that he and the West were "doomed" and proclaimed that the holy war would continue until Islam dominates the world.

US Attacked Again

...and they fail again. Yes the US has been attacked--our embassies are US Territory. I think some miss this point when talking about terrorist attacks.

Gunmen Try to Take U.S. Embassy in Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - Islamic militants attempted to storm the U.S. Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday using automatic rifles, hand grenades and at least one van rigged with explosives, the government said. Four people were killed in the brazen attack, including three of the assailants.

No Americans were hurt, and the attackers apparently did not breach the high walls surrounding the embassy's white compound in the city's diplomatic neighborhood.

More Threats

Al Qaida make more threats.  I wonder how the left will blame Bush for the threating message--we will just wait and see.
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Al-Qaida's No. 2 condemned U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon as enemies of Islam and warned the terror group will strike the Persian Gulf and Israel, suggesting new fronts in its war against the West in a video Monday marking the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Dangers of Appeasement!

Philip Klein has a good piece about 'appeasement' -
In recent weeks, both President Bush and Donald Rumsfeld have warned against making the same mistake Nazi appeasers made during the 1930s by not taking the words of our enemies seriously. While it is certainly tempting to compare the attitudes of Nazi appeasers to those held by today's Left, there is, unfortunately, a much more recent, and more relevant, example of the danger of underestimating evil.
[...]
In a well-known fatwa issued on Feb. 23, 1998, Osama bin Laden declared that: "The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies -- civilians and military -- is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it..." A few months later, he told ABC's John Miller that: "We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets..."
[...]
Two weeks later, when President Clinton ordered cruise missile strikes against a pharmaceutical plant in Sudan and al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan, he told the American people that this would not be the end of the struggle against terrorism. "We must be prepared to do all that we can for as long as we must," he said. He declared that, "there are no expendable American targets" and vowed that, "there will be no sanctuary for terrorists..."

But despite Clinton's tough talk, that was, in fact, the end of his struggle against terrorism as far as military action was concerned...

NEVER Forget!

Well Whoopee Do!

They are upset--you cares!
The former president's aides were angry at suggestions he failed to deal with an Islamic militant threat before 2001.
However, the fact they changed the film proves why NO one should EVER trust network television--NO one no matter your political affiliation!
ABC altered the drama, lasting two and a half hours, before transmission.

It declined to say whether any of the last-minute changes were made to address the complaints.

But parts of the production which drew the most fire from leading Democrats were toned down.

Some Good News

Thought I would share things I believe are good news--by the way, didn't the 'gloom and doomers' back in 2004 predict a total economical failure by now?

Number of Jobless Claims Drops by 9,000
WASHINGTON (AP) - The number of newly laid off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits dropped by a bigger-than-expected amount last week, signaling continuing labor market strength despite a general economic slowdown.

Dip in gas prices may lift entire economy
"The decline in gasoline prices has the effect of a tax cut," says Richard DeKaser, chief economist at National City Corporation, a bank in Cleveland. "Of course it's only partly reversing the 'tax increases' of the past three years."

The swing in gasoline prices has been rapid. Gasoline peaked at about $3.04 a gallon on Aug. 4. Now the national average is closer to $2.73 a gallon, according to GasolinePriceWatch.com. "In Dayton, Ohio, I'm paying $2.29 a gallon," says Brad Proctor, who runs the website.

Security Forces Doing Their Job

Although you will never hear it from the 'mainstream media' (MSM)--it does appear those Iraqi Security Forces the MSM report aren't trained or disciplined, are actually better off then reported and doing their job.  Let see now, the Iraqi forces are doing their job and capture another top al-Qaida member; this should be good news and a good sign--lets see if it is talked about in such away one Sunday's weekly 'bash Bush' shows.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraqi forces have arrested the second most senior operative in al-Qaida in Iraq, and the group now suffers from a "serious leadership crisis," the national security adviser said Sunday.
Hamed Jumaa Farid al-Saeedi, known as Abu Humam or Abu Rana, was arrested a few days ago, Mouwaffak al-Rubaie said, adding that his arrest also led to the capture or death of 11 other top al-Qaida in Iraq figures and nine lower-level members.

It's Football Time in Tennessee

My holiday weekend seems to be starting off pretty good -- Currently Tennessee is beating number 9 ranked California 35 to 3... Got to love those pre-season polls. Currently before the start of the fourth quarters Tennessee has taking out their starting key offensive players.
