Christian conservatives pledge support for '08 Thompson bid
I keep seeing articles like this - Mr. Thompson should, might, is going to....etc. He is probably the most favored and celebrated "possible" Republican candidate - But, will he or is he going to live up to the hype? I really have not given it much thought - I feel it is kind of like comparing the '70 Steelers to the 90' Cowboys, all speculation until he actually enters the race.
If he does will he be the one? Is he all he is said to be? Or, will he fail to live up the billing and ultimately hurt the "true" Republican conservatives and the whole Republican party as a whole?

He's one of the few that can capture the mood and energy of the whole Republican spectrum, even moderates.
My first choice is a Republican who will once again represent true conservatives. If that's not possible, my next choice is anyone who can beat the Democrats.
